Lexio keeps your learning data local-first.
Effective date: 2026-04-12. Your vocabulary progress, SRS schedules, and session history stay on your device. A small profile record is synced to Firebase so your rating and streak are preserved if you reinstall.
What Lexio stores on your device
- Vocabulary groups, story text, and flashcard content — seeded locally at install.
- Your FSRS review schedule: each word's due date, stability, difficulty, and review count.
- Session history: date, duration, word count, and correct-answer count for the last 30 days.
- Completed topic IDs and vocabulary level you selected in onboarding.
- Appearance preferences (theme and palette).
- Premium access state, restored from App Store on request.
What Lexio syncs to Firebase
Lexio uses Firebase Firestore to sync a lightweight profile record so your progress is not lost if you reinstall. The synced fields are:
- Player ELO rating and rating band.
- Daily streak and total cards studied.
- Vocabulary level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced).
Firebase Remote Config is used to deliver app configuration flags (for example, toggling features or updating content without a full app update). No personal data is sent via Remote Config.
Analytics
Lexio may use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events such as session completions, paywall views, and plan selections. These events do not include story text, note content, or personally identifiable information. Analytics can be disabled by contacting support.
Purchases and subscriptions
Premium subscriptions (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. Lexio does not store your payment card information. Purchase state is verified locally on-device and kept in a secure UserDefaults key; it is not sent to a Lexio server.
What Lexio does not collect
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials.
- Location data.
- Contacts, camera, or microphone access.
- The content of your reading sessions beyond aggregate correct/incorrect counts.
Children
Lexio is intended for users aged 17 and older in line with its App Store rating. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Data deletion
You can reset all local progress inside the app via Settings → Reset Progress. To request deletion of your Firebase profile record, email support@lexio.app with your device's approximate first-use date and we will remove it within 30 days.
